The Daily Evergreen’s article yesterday about the City Council meeting attributed many things to me that I did not say, including supporting a hypothetical levy. This did not occur and is an inaccurate summation of what was said at that meeting.
I did inquire about what options we as a council could put to the voters, including levies, which would help citizens have a say in the level of services they receive from their city government.
As a strong supporter of direct democracy, I believe citizen input is vital. It is also vital for our leaders and the ideas they discuss to be portrayed accurately and fairly.
Thank you to the Daily Evergreen for clarifying what was said at this meeting and thank you to all the residents of Pullman for bestowing upon me the honor of representing this great community.
