After seeing the Pullman School District’s well-thought-out proposal for the bond levy at the Jan. 22 City Council meeting, which will be on the ballot for this February’s election, I urge the residents of Pullman to vote in favor of the proposal. For a modest level on property taxes, we can see a huge improvement in our children’s success and the future of this community. Education is an investment that pays off in dividends. An educated work force leads to innovation, economic growth and a reduction of crime and social ills.
Education has changed my life and given me opportunities that I could never imagine as a child. I want every child to have these same opportunities, and that starts with having world class K-12 education in the Pullman community.
Investing in the children of our community is one of the most important things we as citizens will ever decide. The Pullman School District has been transparent and open on how the funds will be spent, and explained why now is the necessary time to make these investments.
I urge all citizens of Pullman to join me and so many other leaders of this community in voting “Yes” for our schools.
